HALIFAX HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

DAYTONA BEACH, FL

Two years ago, the Halifax Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors concluded that building four or five houses a year was a "losing battle";  the need for affordable housing was growing faster than the solution.  We needed to Build Them By The Dozen - at least!  Under the leadership of HHH President, David Hood, the Board has worked to develop the management and support infrastructure (mostly volunteers) to be able to sustain an increased building capacity of ten to fifteen houses per year.  We now need to focus on finding sponsors for our increased capacity.

Our goal is to increase our house production from an average of 5-7 houses to twelve houses annually.  To meet this goal, we are establishing twelve "teams".  Each team includes local congregations, civic and social groups, and representatives of the business community.  We are looking forward to the involvement of the community in this exciting goal.
