We’re really excited about rebranding our former Home Store into a ReStore,” says Halifax HFH Executive Director Lori Gillooly.  “Our work here at the ReStore – combined with the generous contributions from our many community sponsors and volunteers – enables us to fulfill our mission of building houses, building lives and building hope.

“Habitat International’s ReStore philosophy is so simple, and yet so relevant, especially these days,” adds Gillooly.  “Sales from the ReStore provide: additional funding support to meet our house-building goals; low-cost materials for our local citizens; and an opportunity to divert literally tons of materials from our landfills.  We’re enhancing our community and protecting our environment – not to mention providing some exceptional shopping!”

Donations are a main focus of the ReStore, and the new Donor Drop-off area was unveiled at the Grand Re-Opening in December.  Halifax HFH encourages donors to drop-off: working appliances, kitchen & bathroom cabinets, gently used furniture, tile, toilets, sinks & faucets, doors & windows, light fixtures, home decor, flooring, and tools & hardware. 

The ReStore also offers the convenient, scheduled pick up of materials donated by households and commercial interests.
